Make Contactless Payments with ChargeStripe’s Tap to Pay feature. Here's how we can start!
Section 1: How it works?
The following are the steps that would guide you to start using Tap to Pay on your device.
Step 1: Download ChargeStripe and log in with your Stripe credentials
Step 2: Go to the Charge screen, enter your transaction value, and when on the next page select the 'Tap to Pay' option to proceed with your transaction.
Step 3: Select the business location, if not set previously, and proceed to charge the card using Tap to Pay.
The business location should appear if it is pre-added to your Stripe account. The selection needs to be made the first time while processing a transaction at a specific location. It is required to add a business location.

Step 4: Start collecting contactless payments effortlessly.
Section 2: What you should know before you begin?
- Available within USA, UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy & Netherlands
- Available for Android and iOS users
- Supports VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, and NFC-based mobile wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay)
- Supported Devices: iPhone XS & later
- Supported OS versions:
- 16.7 or later in the USA, UK, and Australia
- 17.0 or later in France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.
- 17.4 or later in Canada
Note:
- If you run your business in the above-listed countries, but your Stripe account is registered elsewhere, you WON'T be able to use the Tao to Pay feature yet.
- iPads that do not have NFC reading capabilities are not supported
Common FAQs
Q: How much does it cost to use Tap to Pay?
A. Using Tap to Pay does not add any additional processing fee over the regular transaction fees. Standard charges apply.
Q: Do I need a card reader to use Tap to Pay?
A. No, you don't need to purchase a hardware device to use this feature on our app.
Q: What version of the app supports Tap to Pay and how can I verify if I have it?
A. ChargeStripe App version number for Tap to Pay is 2.0.2 and above.
Q: When would it be available to other locations?
A. As soon as Stripe releases it on different geographical, ChargeStripe will also facilitate the feature to the extended areas. We depend on Stripe for these expansions.
