How can I delete my account?

On the app, you simply need to log out to disconnect your account from the app. There is no separate process for deleting an account on the ChargeStripe app.

If you no longer want to use the app, you can uninstall it from your device. Then, you need to take an extra step to revoke access from your Stripe dashboard.

However, if you are looking to close or delete your Stripe account, it requires some additional steps. Very often, accounts are closed in a hurry, which results in scenarios that cannot be reversed. Merchants face difficulties in completing the closure, especially with the final settlements.

Therefore, the following check-points are recommended before an account closure is initiated:

1. Make sure you're logged in to the account that you want to close

2. Check that you have paid out any existing balance before closing your Stripe account, including payouts and refunds

3. Once a Stripe account is closed, it cannot be reopened, so be careful once you begin

4. It is recommended that you export the data in the account to a CSV file before closing it, as a backup if needed

5. An account with a negative balance cannot be closed

To close a Stripe account, the owner of a Stripe account needs to navigate to Settings > Account details on the Dashboard. On the Account details page, you'd need to scroll to the bottom where you should be able to see the 'Close account' button, most likely highlighted in red. Click Close account to permanently close a Stripe account.
