How do I place a hold on a card?
Securely place holds on cards, then capture or release the payment at a later time. This pre-authorization of cards can be achieved using the 'Authorize Only' mode on the charge page.
Here's how:
Update the ChargeStripe app to the latest version.
- Enter the payment value and press 'Charge' to select the payment method on the next page.

- Tap the "Authorize Only" switch (toggle).

To capture or release the payment, open the "Previous Transactions" menu.
- Tap the authorized transaction to choose to capture (collect) the payment or release (refund) it.
After completing an authorized payment, you have up to 7 days to process or cancel the payment, otherwise, it will automatically be reversed/refunded to your customer.
The number of days to hold the payment cannot be extended from more than 7 days.
